Anyone have tips on cheap holiday travel ideas for new years 2008?

Hi guys, my name is sofia, I live in Los Angeles. Help! My boyfriend and I would really like to get away this year, at the end of December, possibly beginning of January for an eight or nine day vacation, Our budget is limited, and Im really vexd on where we should go. My best friend’s are going to pukhet Thailand, but I can’t seem to find anything reasonable during that peak holiday season. We really don’t have to travel there. My boyfriend has NEVER been outside the united states (I know:) so I wanted to bring him somewhere unique, exotic, and fun… I was hoping you might have a good idea, maybe a story from one of your travels that you would like to share with me. I am really overwhelmed! Ideally our budget is really only about $2,ooo per person airfare, hotel, and food, and I DON’T want to take a cruise! lol.. Am I crazy, or is this doable? I would so appreciate your help! I have a fantastic two bedroom apt between westwood and Beverly hills, anyone up for a home swap:) Thx Sofia

Jack was spotted in a Dodgers baseball cap waiting outside the valet parking entrance. “Hey,” He smiled as he silently admired Rebecca’s glossy hair. “Wow you look hot!” Rebecca giggled in that flirty way she did that always won the hearts of her
crushes. She reached out her hand and Jack kissed it.
“You don’t look too bad yourself,” she smiled at Jack.
“Well, I mean what can I say? Your not the only person who has style” He continued.
Rebecca replied with a smile and confidently led the way into the Beverly Hills Hotel lobby. She knew exactly where the restaurant was, her dad took her there all the time when she was younger.
A waiter approached with two lunch menus. “I’ll have the House Salad and a Diet Coke,” Rebecca smiled when the waiter pulled out his notepad.
“On a diet?” Jack teased.

On a diet?” Jack teased. “I’ll have a hamburger, rare with Swiss cheese, fresh tomatoes, lightly toasted bun – without the sesame seeds, and a side of garlic bead with a teaspoon of butter on top.”
“Someone’s picky,” She playfully replied. It only took her a few moments though, to realize he wasn’t paying attention at all. When she caught him staring at a skinny Hollywood-wannabe she assumed it was because he though she was hot or something, but at a second glance she noticed he was watching her clumsily try to make out with her companion.
“Don’t worry, Brunettes do it better,” Rebecca smirked, she took a breath, leaned in slowly, and met Jack’s lips with hers. They were cold but soft and his tongue felt so perfect against hers.
Shawty had those apple bottom jeans.
Boots with the fur.
The whole club was looking at her.
She hit the flo.
Next thing you know –
“Damn.” Rebecca pulled away and struggled to check her ringing cell – her heart was thumping so fast.

Marriott Newport Coast hotel! ?

Does anyone know how much driving distance from the Marriott Newport Coast villas in California is from LA and Beverly Hills, rodeo drive etc.. ..i want to go there from vacation and i have a timeshare w/a great deal, but i want to go to LA, is it easier to book a hotel in LA or is this ok ? i’e never been to CA!! i’m from boston LOL

So I’ll be staying in LA for 4 days at the end of june. I booked my hotel through priceline and the hotel happens to be the Thompson Beverly Hills. My question is when I booked the hotel i booked 3 rooms for 6 people but there’s going to be 8 of us actuaIlly. Do you guys think it’s going to be an issue given I don’t plan on informing them there will be 8 people ?

okay so im not really writing a novel sorta thing.. but its a project i have been working on for quite some time… and i would like some help on setting PLEASE
i need some places in new york city for ex.
low key but trendy lounges, clubs, bars, hangout places not so much five star
BUT… i also need those same places in new york city but not low key… i need 5 star kinds of places… as well as the grungy cultural side of NYC. i need both. that and the upper east side, of things too
at least 5-10 of each…pleaseeee

in example 5 STAR places, like restaurants, hotels, bars, lounges, celebrity hangout sort of things
also at least 10 of these because my story is set mainly in california (LA, BH, hollywood) i have a few places that i will use in my story like (OF COURSE)

and some place called Firefly in studio city
